Taiwan Feather Exporters’ Association was established in 1953, at a time when Taiwan was poor and
resources were scarce, and the government needed US dollars to begin building and construction
projects. The goal of the association was to unify feather companies to help bring more profit to Taiwan.
From 1953 to 1981, many high quality feather related products contributed significantly to Taiwan’s
growth. The honorable members of this association ranked in the top 500 exporters of Taiwan.
Waterfowl feather and down is a sacred gift from nature. It is soft and lightweight, absorbs moisture
with unique moisture repelling properties, and is most efficient insulator during different seasons.
Together with its superiority of resilience, feather and down is unique and irreplaceable natural fiber.
In this society where quality of living is a priority, feather products are beginning to play an increasingly
important role.
According to the 1994 statistics released by the Japanese Feather and Down Bedding Association, the
percentage of a given population using down bedding products are: Europe 80%, USA 60% and Japan
55%. These figures continue to grow, especially in Japan, where in June 2001, 86.9% of the population
was using down bedding products. This indicates a tremendous growth potential in the coming years,
and we look forward to achieving sustained results through the unified efforts of our nation’s
manufacturers!
Currently, there are 32 members based in Taiwan, working hard to contribute to Taiwan’s economy.
Our association continues to be an effective liaison between members and the government to create
win-win scenarios. In fact, our association was presented with an award by the Ministry of the Interior
in 2000. Moving forward, our association will continue to work hard to serve our members.
