There are nine main features of natural down and feather products that address environmental considerations.

2. Biodegradable
3. Smart use of resources (waterfowl feather and down is the by-products of the poultry industry)
4. Saves energy (superb insulating power thereby reducing the use of heating and fuel)
5. Light weight (light as air)
6. All natural product (unlike synthetic fibers from petrochemical processes)
7. Renewable (synthetic fiber products are not renewable)
8. Safe (uses modern cleaning, sanitizing and manufacture technology, modern down-proof shells)
9. Superb insulating power (each gram of down traps more air for its weight than any other insulating material)

Due to the unique characteristics of down as a raw material, special care must be taken in the process of these down products in terms of the down-proof shell and the sewing process.

A)Down-Proof Shells

A quality protective shell is crucial to any down product; if the down proofing is inadequate, the valuable contents inside can easily penetrate the shell. Therefore, this shell differs from other filling components in that it requires an extra down-proofing process.

B) Sewing Process

Down is exceedingly soft and very small in size.  It is capable of penetrating through the regular stitches in the protective shell.  For this reason, consumer grade sewing needles cannot be used as they would cause irreparable leakage.  Rather, our sewing process utilizes special needles that prevent down from escaping.
